After some really beautiful nominations for families to win a Free Family Session with me I wanted to take a moment to tell you how honored I am to hear your great stories. Learning about your families and friends are awesome. I wish I could capture everyone who submitted. These giveaways are so tough trust me, we are ALL so deserving of precious memories captured. Whether you haven’t had photos in five minutes or five years… get out there and get your picture taken by a professional who understands family photography. You just don’t get those moments back in time!
So let me take a moment and talk about this submission. Congratulations to the ‘A’ family! It was sent by someone who knows them and it really touched my heart. They are a perfect tribute in Honor of my Grandmother Heidi. Why? Because my Grandmother loved her grandkids and great grandkids. They are a family of 6… mom, dad, two girls, two boys. They are happy, full of life sweet folks who live for their kids. You can feel it taking their pictures. The kids are hilarious and super cute… each so different in their own ways. They have a sibling bond and I was really happy I got to see several moments of just them ‘being’.
So one thing I haven’t said. Gabe, their youngest is a two-year old with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. It’s a rare fatal disease with no cure. You wouldn’t know he was fighting a big battle and that his family spends a lot of time at appointments and that they just don’t have all the answers.


Saying that just trips me up totally. I will say this, I think about Gabe and his family a lot since the session and I love being able to stay in the know on Facebook.
