Say hello to this little sweet boy Jaime. Jaime has been with DigitalMyst Photography since before he was even born. His parents booked their Maternity photos and their entire Newborn and Grow With Me based on a referral when they were about half way through their pregnancy. Look at this adorable little face, oh my goodness am I lucky to be his family photog right!?

In working with his family we had a lot of advance notice to preplan maternity images as well as colors and combos for his newborn session. Having advance notice for photography sessions is really the best way to go from a photographer prospective as well as being the client too. Shooting hundreds of Tampa families allows me; as your photographer, to have good insight and recommendations on locations, outfits and colors for the season as well as ideas on things that flow well in your home on the walls and displayed throughout. Newborn images are exactly the same – preplanning to give a photographer a heads up on your baby room colors and theme can be key to a success for perfect image matches on the walls and your vision coming to life in your announcements to debut your new bundle of joy.

When photographers have pre-booked newborn sessions they also can plan their schedules ahead to accommodate flexibility of a natural birth or c-section birthing plan.

So, are you wondering how soon you should book a photographer – period – ?
My advice is this, book out with as much notice as you can. For the above reasons it’s a good idea over all. If you’re a working parent and need weekends and ideal flexibility to even book your images it’s even more reason to get the best weekend date that works around soccer, dance, work trips and vacations.

So let’s fast forward…. long term photography commitments can be a huge advantage if you like your photographer as well. Having someone capture multiple large milestones in your life and really connecting with working together makes me beautiful timeless images that look amazing side by side as time passes.
