For those who don’t know, I’m not just a Tampa Kid Photographer, Maverick is my nephew (I’m the cool Aunt, and I’m sticking to that title very strongly) so of course I was excited to mark his first birthday milestone session with a smash cake theme that would be ubber cute! Thankfully mom had the perfect theme and we ran with monster props to deck out his backdrop. Thanks to Aunt Dani’s amazon obsession we had plenty of boxes to complete the backdrop with cute colored paper and monster face cut outs. To schedule a first birthday smash cake session it’s great to consider a theme or look for your baby’s milestones photos. This helps your photographer focus on a look and feel which could carry through to their first birthday party. These photos not only make great display pieces and lasting memories but they tie your look and feel together. There are so many wonderful ideas out there on Pinterest but I absolutely recommend focusing on something that’s close to you and your baby. While some right away have an idea or a theme, others might wonder what idea to go with so here are some ideas:
– What does your baby love?
– What do you and your baby enjoy doing together?
– What does your baby room look like and why did you choose that for your baby?
– Do you have a nickname for your baby?
– Could your baby’s name create a theme itself?
Start with thinking through these questions to get you started if a theme doesn’t jump out at you. It’ll come!
